presented at California Institute of the Arts and Electrofringe 2006 in Australia Remote Tea, a prototype for a model of interaction and data exchange, is the result of a workshop led at California Institute of the Arts by League scientist Dr. L. Hernandez Gomez. The initial concept was presented simultaneously at the California Institute of the Arts and at Electrofringe 2006 in Australia. The interaction includes individuals at remote sites passing tea to one another through interactive video and broadcast data. Only by making an effort to connect across the network – physically reaching towards the on-screen remote person – can an exchange of a virtual object take place. |
