Photosynthesis at Apex Ave. is a digital construct that places the scene of a dinner party within the leaves of a common houseplant. Dinner guests move from leaf to leaf, their conversation mingling with melodic sounds, while white dots of light move through the plant’s arteries. The visual invites a comparison between human consumption and plant consumption, as the process of photosynthesis is filtered through the human lens of a dinner party. In the installation pictured, Photosynthesis is projected against window blinds, becoming part of the environment.
