[Lucy H G]
Intermedia artist Lucy
H G orchestrates layered interactive installations based on her fantastic
theories of how the world is (i.e.: science).
An artist who teaches and incorporates new technologies, her visual
experiments, responsive environments, and live interactions fit in between
realms, where microbiology mingles with geopolitics and physical science
animates domestic routine. Based
in Los Angeles, Lucy H. G. received her MFA in Multimedia from Claremont
Graduate University in 2001, after which she directed the Multimedia Studies
program at Los Angeles Mission College and co-founded the Institute of Arts and
Multimedia. She has written
theoretical articles on making meaningful interaction in media art and places
an emphasis on conceptually grounding the technological components of her
work. The interactive elements in
her art often mirror the interaction between humanity and the environment,
underlining humanityÕs impact on the ecosphere.
[Dr. L. Hernandez
Gomez]
As research coordinator
for the League of Imaginary Scientists, Dr. L. Hernandez Gomez facilitates collaborative
endeavors by an international community of creative scientists,
mechanically-inclined artists, and absurdist inventors (think subterfuge
meets centrifuge).
Pulling from the collective creativity of local and remote artists to
realize ambitious interactive installations, the League of Imaginary Scientists
builds mega-media constructions of scientific mythologies and everyday
experiments. With a directive of interdisciplinary exploration, the
groupÕs hybrid projects cross media and disciplines with the aim of integrating
the contributions of collaborators in a plenary artistic outcome.
[H. G. Solomon]
Directing team H. G.
Solomon is the
filmmaking team comprised of Lucy H. G. and Matt Solomon. Their union has generated the
production company Remote Control Monkey.
Current projects by H. G. Solomon are being developed with the support
of the Royal Norwegian General Consulate, NRK television (Norway), and Lademoen
Kunstnerverksteder (Norway).

[Projects]
Multidisciplinary
projects by Lucy H G and the League exhibit globally. Her catalog of
Imaginary Science, consisting of animated diagrams of everyday life, was
featured in ColombiaÕs celebration of the World Year of Physics in Bogot‡ in
2005. In 2006, as artist in
residence at CalArts, she worked with graduate students to develop Remote
Tea party.
Her collaboration with the dance collective E.K.K.O was presented at The
Cultural Exchange Station (CESTA) in the Czech Republic. The telematic Dinner Party series was developed at Performance
Space in Sydney and presented at (re)Actor in London and at Electrofringe in Australia. 2007 League
projects have been featured at the 2007 International Live Film Festival in San Francisco, Medical/Arts at the Armory Center for the Arts, Command
Z at the Museum of
Torrance, NetUser4
in Bulgaria, MAAC in Brussels, the Mapping Festival at BAC in Geneva, and Babel Art
Space in Norway.
